Happy Holidays | Our Year In Review | AGI, Quantum Tech, and Nearshoring
Once a year, I like to take a moment and write a short note to all our clients, colleagues, partners, and subscribers. I used to write this only for our AI firm Emergent Line, but after the response we received last year, I decided to open it up to everyone across our growing family of companies.
Business is never easy, and if it is, you might not be pushing the market as hard as you could be. I firmly believe that we’re all here to do meaningful work that has the possibility of fixing something that we believe will benefit others. Sometimes, these items are big, other times small, but what matters is that people feel the difference when you do it.
It’s been a mission of mine for the past two decades that I’ve been working on different companies, projects, initiatives, and programs to support and partner with people doing amazing work. It’s helped me learn about new industries, new problems, and new ways to look at the world that challenge deep-held beliefs about what is or is not possible.
Working at the intersection of business and tech means living in the future while simultaneously living in the present. Creating a bridge for those futuristic ideas to travel back with you to be converted into something people can consistently enjoy. Bringing in people to the team who share that vision and can bring new concepts to be worked on is one of the most rewarding and exhilarating things I have been able to do in my career.

Last year, we shared our vision for Emergent Line in 2023 and asked anyone reading to reach out if they wanted to work with us to build the future, and you answered. Because of you, we’ve done everything from pre-seed startups to Fortune 500 clients, G7 and G20 Governments, VCs and top institutional investors, and some of the most prestigious graduate programs in the world.
We’ve also made the national and international media for our work, helped to build out national AI regulations in multiple countries, and encouraged governments to put citizens and workers at the center of policy while envisioning what type of country they want to develop in the era of artificial intelligence for their people and the world.
