RQ:RA™

Right Questions : Right Answers

What’s the importance of a question? Questions are the fuel that powers humanity. It’s how we get to know each other, learn a new subject, develop a new interest, and start companies. The better questions we ask, the better answers and outcomes we can generate. The lower the quality of questions, the worse the outcomes will be. Sometimes, spending time and money answering the wrong question can put a company out of business. Think Eastman Kodak, Blackberry, Motorola, Circuit City, Blockbuster, and the list goes on.

The RQ:RA Method™

So why you might ask do we spend so much time answering the wrong questions? What is keeping entrepreneurs, CEO’s, executives, and teams from answering the right questions? We’ve found three main factors play a disproportional role in question formulation:

• Proximity to the Problem

• Framing Questions & Problems

• Internal Resistance to Changing Frame & Questions

At the same time, there are the select companies that have learned the art and science of question development, problem reframing, and opportunity discovery. Companies are economic organisms that feed off consuming the right questions. Feed a company better questions, the larger it will grow. Feed a company lower quality questions, the smaller and weaker it will become. Then maybe it will disappear altogether.

It’s your company’s job to cultivate a problem reframing farm that will yield the highest quality questions to feed your business. Do this, and you could create the next great business.
